Techinical Problem

Who says technology makes one’s life easier?! I say in a lot of ways, it really complicates life. Listen to what I went through Saturday morning.

On Friday night, the night before Show and Tell, I was out until almost midnight. As usual, I had left printing out my chemistry report till the last possible minute. Unfortunately, the floppy on which I had saved the report in school, turned out to be un-formatted. Since I couldn’t open the document, I had to ask Janani to type part of it out and email it to me. I came home only to find that our internet connection wasn’t working. Thinking that I would get up early Saturday morning and access my report (along with Supreya’s) through email the next morning, I went to sleep.

I got up at SIX am…which (those of you who know me well, will know) is an UNEARTHLY hour of the morning for me! I went to the computer that had both an internet connection and a printer, and found that yet again, the internet connection wasn’t working. So, I went to the other computer and accessed my email, got the two reports, typed up the remaining part of my own, saved it, and woke up my dad to give me a pen drive. I only have one printer, so I had to transfer the files to the one that had a functional printer, but no internet. I transferred the files, and turned of the computer…only to realise that there was something wrong with the pen drive and the files weren’t being transferred! This repeated with the second pen drive, AFTER I typed the whole thing up AGAIN, since the first document failed to save (for some unidentifiable reason). When I gave up on the pen drive, I decided to burn a CD. Just as I started doing that, dad brought the printer to that room. By the time he had connected it, accessed the files, and printed both documents, I had MISSED THE BUS!

Argh! It was the most disastrous morning ever. Not to mention the fact that my iPod is working, and neither is the webcam. I hate technology! Hate it I tell you!

Seriously, technology is like this double-edged sword which we all love getting cut with ! And fate, ah, that four-letter word....when you have an important assigment to submit, or better still, a sixty slide ppt with a few epochal videos which are going to make the teacher say 'FULL MARKS !!!!', and for some bizarre reason, the net is down, pen drives can't be found, darned things are too big for a floppy, the CD writer makes ominous sounds and refuses to work, basically when everything tech goes on strike at the wrong time, it is really BAD. and try telling ur teacher that the COMP WASN'T WORKING PROPERLY !!!!!

Probably the only good part is the backspace key !!! The comp helps my thoughts FLOWWWWWW of late but that also means my handwriting has become all the more awful :(

For almost one hour now, I've been desperately trying to add links to my blog. I'm trying it out on another blog of mine because I already accomplished some unwanted cosmetic surgery on this one. But, NO. The links just won't come. I tried using HTML copypasted from MS-Frontpage and ended up with a whole lot of gibberish. I copypasted the Blogger links code but I didn't find any changes. But I'm scared of experimenting with delicate dolls on my computer. The last time I made some changes in my Internet connection settings, they had to be reconfigured allllll over again.

Well, I guess I should just stick to good ole posting and refrain from cosmetic surgery......lol

If you tell me what's wrong with your iPod and webcam, I could probably help. I end up fixing such things for friends pretty often.

Hope things sort out, though. :D

    (Call me! :P)
