Red For Cold...Blue For Hot?

I’ve now officially been working for a week. I’m now beginning to feel a little bit of the strain…I haven’t been to well, and the working hours are hard to get used to! My friends will tell you, that I am NOT a morning person. But I have to be at work at 8:30! This wouldn’t be so bad, if the journey to work wouldn’t be 45 minutes long!! I’m up a little past dawn everyday! I’m lucky I haven’t fallen asleep on the MRT just yet. Though, this morning, the lady sitting next to me – who was practically falling on me while she was asleep – was doing enough sleeping for the both of us!

The most annoying thing though, is the weird temperature systems here!! It’s never warm when you want it to be, and never cold when you want it to be! We went to the Singapore Swimming Club on Sunday. It was SO hot outside, that we were looking forward to using the indoor pool. Ok, the water was warm. Apparently there are members who complain if the water is too cold. The Jacuzzi though, is HOT. I mean, the water was HOT! God…

Anyway, we took a dip in the Jacuzzi, and somehow after that, the pool felt pretty cold to us!! We had a blast. When we were getting out though – all wet and cold – we went to the changing rooms…which were…you guessed it – air conditioned. Oh my God I FROZE! And then of course we went home, and it was BOILING outside!

I am surviving in a very strange city…

Hey!!! Singapore's not a wierd city, come on... Although I must admit, the temperature fluctuations are quite extreme. Its funny how the weather here is soooo boiling hot, but I can't leave home without a sweater.

You know what, I think you probably need a thicker sweater to survive at Biopolis. Remind me to find you one at home. You can't afford to perpetually have a blocked nose.

Ok I should probably stop now, I'm just going on about rubbish. Thing is, I can't help it! I'm stuck at an internship myself... the only slight problem is, I have no work!!! Well not just yet at least... Which explains my senseless chatter.

Oh, and I'm not even sure if I should be posting a comment here, considering I'm not a regular reader of your blog. I just happened to be bored, so... But then again, I might just blog a lot during this internship, so be forewarned... you're gonna hear a lot more of me. Muahahaha!

Hey, stop complaining - I gotta leave home at 7 to get to K'mangala by 830, riding no MTR, but a bus PACKED to overflow (literally, I sometimes have to hang out of the ONE bus that comes in an hour) with sweaty,, smelly, foul-breathed people giving you strange looks in a bus that takes 40 minutes to go 5 km.
Work is strange - inside the garage, strangely enough, ith all the fans, its sweltering, but outside the sun shines and thiss cool breeze blows. Someone spras this presssurized jet of water to cool you down, and then yo start sweating again by lunch timee.
But its fun. I hope it is for you too... you should come over to PM someday... the pools (are) quite nice here...

Hey Parita! Nice to get a comment from you!

Sneha...it's not extreme weather! Just low ACs. In any case, outside, it's hot and humid ALL the time! =D

Aveek...I'm not complaining! I'm having fun here! I'm just puzzled by the whole thing! And the hours are hard to get used to! You poor thing, you have to take a BUS?? In BANGALORE?? Taking an MRT in the morning is equally packed, though there are no smelly people giving you looks! PS - I envy your PM pools!!! *sigh*

People in Singapore have this amazing ability to sleep on the train, and STILL get up at the rights station!! This lady was falling (literally falling) onto the lady next to her...and she STILL managed to be up at Kalang!!!

So all I'm saying is that its strange...maybe just different...and strange...

Hey meghna! Well I guess since no one else seems to be giving u sympathy I will!!!
Because I know u aren't a morning person by far... and I know how hard it must be for you to wake up every morning when the sun hasn't fully risen! But I think they have starbucks there, so you have an excuse to have one of those yummy espressos every morning! Trust me they're really yummy!
And I also know how much u studied before leaving for singapore, and how much you're still learning there! Even though its the summer after tenth grade... which I think is totally commendable... and cool! And... yes there's an and... you haven't had much of a break from studying since... like... october! So I think she deserves some slack Aveek... I mean just think... despite all this, she still loves her job!!!

Peace. Will all the women please stop trying to tear my perspective apart...?! All I'm saying is that... hey, wait... I'm not too sure what I'm saying... OK, lets just drop that...
I like my owrk too... basically, I'm not much of a morning person either - you gotta see my mum trying tto wake me up on a holiday... its a real effort... but finally, you get used to the job, the hours, and the jacck-assas on the bus.
Mia: The bus ain't that bad here... you go to Delhi, and you get onto a bus wearing anything other than soiledd, mud blasted rags, and you'll be mugged in (not so) broad daylight. Over here, I quite happily carry my disc-man and my cell phone around... but what is really embasrrasing is when these worker type people (horrible discrimination, I know) get out their cell phones - THEY ARE COOLER THAN MINE!!!! Not that mine is an good (its thatt base LG model, which I've stuck to for 2 years, and am quite content with), but those guys flif out these Nokias and give me these superior grins... and all I can do is stick my head deep into the recesses of my back-pack... hehe... so its quite a comical trip...

Hehe...thanks Su - appreciate the support! Though it wasn't a big deal really, lol

Aveek - you should see the trains here! There isn't enough room to walk IN! But people are most unbothered by those around them! No one looks at anyone else! So, mugging and getting superiour stares...doesn't happen to me! So you have my sympathy there! ;)
